Purchased the newer model hoping the problems of past reviews would have been addressed. Sadly hinge weld quality is still poor and exterior coating is marginal with missed areas. So quality control is lacking.It is nice having the six large door rods, three on each long edge. Note the door hinge side rods are fixed so do not retract when opening the door.The touch pad sensor is small and not very reliable, works about a quarter of the time on first try. The vicinity alarm it is not. It is a touch alarm.This cabinet is listed by the DOJ as approved in California to meet gun storage requirements. It easily stores five long guns and I am sure it can store a few more.There where only two mounting holes in the back of the cabinet one top left one bottom right. I added a few addition holes for securing it to the wall.The door is fairly heavy but the cabinet is not that thick. I have installed the cabinet in such away that only the door is accessible.There was slight corner damage in shipping puncher damage of the shipping box right at the key pad but luckily it was not damaged.
